Membership

How do you join us?

When you join the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War, you enter a network of more than 6,000 men who form lifelong bonds, honor their heroic ancestors, and promote historic preservation, education, and patriotism in their communities. 

There are several categories for membership.

Hereditary membership 

For men who can trace their lineage to those who served honorably for the Union in the Civil War.

Associate membership 

For men who do not have the requisite ancestry but, through a great interest in the Civil War and service to the community, wish to join the fraternity.

Junior membership is for boys age 6-14 who can trace their lineage to those who served honorably for the Union in the Civil War. 

Auxiliary to SUVCW membership is available to women who can trace their lineage to those who served honorably for the Union in the Civil War and all wives or daughters of SUVCW members.
