Structure

The Sons of Union Veterans' structure was inherited from the Grand Army of the Republic, which mimicked that of the Union Army.

The National Organization.

The Department is the state or regional level organization. Lincoln Cushing Camp is part of the Chesapeake Department, which groups together the states of Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, Delaware, and the District of Columbia.

Lincoln-Cushing Cam No.2 is the only camp in the District of Columbia, and also serves brothers in its immediate Maryland suburbs and Northern Virginia.
